Weigh-ins: 6:00-8:00am MT - Wrestling Start Time: When paired (not before 9am)
Entry Fees: $10 per wrestler - Admission: $5 Adults $3 Students
Coaches: $25 (Gate fee and Coaches stamp included)
Towns: Rapid City, Hill City, Custer, Hot Springs, Edgemont, Wall, Philip, Kadoka, Pine Ridge, & Bennett County, Hermosa
Age Groups and Weight Classes
TOTS (Born in 2006 and after) 35-40-45-50-55-HWT
BANTAM (Born in 2005 and 2004) 40-45-50-55-60-65-70-75-80-90-HWT
MIDGETS (Born 2003 and 2002) 50-55-60-65-70-75-80-85-90-95-103-112-120-130-HWT
NOVICE (Born in 2001 and 2000) 60-65-70-75-80-85-90-95-100-105-112-120-130-140-HWT
SCHOOLBOY (Born in 1999 and 1998) 70-75-80-85-90-95-100-105-110-115-120-125-130-140-150-160-180-HWT
GIRLS: Girls will be handled just like the boys. They are entered at the division at which they weighed in for. They must make that same weight for the following tournaments they qualify for.
Each age group will wrestle 3-1:30 minute periods.
This year each region will be allowed to bring the top 4 to state at a certain age group. Region 1 will be SCHOOLBOYS and CADETS, Region 2 will be TOTS, Region 3 will be BANTAMS, Region 4 it will be MIDGETS and Region 5 it will be NOVICE.
Wrestler Information:
AAU card is required at check-in and AAU cards must be pre-ordered online at www.aausports.org. AAU cards will not be sold the day of the tournament. It is highly recommended that all people have a copy of the athlete’s birth certificate with them. Any challenges on age must be made before the start of the tourney it cannot be done during. If a person is going to issue a challenge they must do it with the tournament director and be present during the verification. This event is sanctioned by the Amateur Athletic Union of the U.S., Inc.
Coaches Information:
Coaching is allowed but the coaches must have their AAU coach’s card prior to the tournament. All coaches’ cards must be purchased ahead of time. This is done online at www.aausports.org. Cards will be stamped and appropriate fees paid for at districts. Only those individuals with coaching passes will be allowed mat-side.
